I teach roller skating in historic Auburn Skate, a roller rink that has been in operation since 1965.
Today's maple floor was once the USA Nationals floor for competitive Speed and Artistic skating national championships in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our sports' world champions have roller skated across these boards.
I offer instruction in recreational inline and quad skating, as well as competitive skating. My students range in age from two-years-old to 80-years-old.
Having goals and the plan to reach each goal are essential to developing a lifetime of skating fun. New skaters begin learning skills for the Super Skater Awards. A beautiful test structure follows, which teaches fundamentals from beginner level to mastery. I wish for every skater to fall in love with the roll and glide, as I have.
Roller skating is FUN!
(Do you know what you can do on roller skates that you cannot do on ice skates? You can roll through the lobby and snack bar. Ice skaters have to walk through their lobbies and snack bars. Ha! Roller skating is harder than ice skating, presenting more interesting challenges. Plus, it's warm and dry. Yet, what you see of ice skating on television can be learned on roller skates.)

I have studied dance and figure skating with world champion coaches. I am fortunate to be mentored and coached by John and Diane Gustafson of Auburn, Washington and Joan Dreyer of Portland. It is a privilege to teach at Auburn Skate and to work for the Rhoads.
Roller skating is the greatest passion of my life.
I enjoy continuous study, continuous skating, and working to meet goals for my students and for myself.
In 2017, I won Premier Gold Women Solo Dance at the 2017 US National Championships, which was an elite division for adult skaters and the highlight of my competitive career.
